Current reactor designs are all or nothing which contributes to the high cost of building a water cooled plant. With a Molten Salt Reactor, the need for a containment build, large water supply, pool storage facility and long term storage casts are not required. As such smaller modular reactors can be built thereby lowering the cost drastically for a power plant. Instead of one large complex, the plants will be multiple smaller reactors.
